The University of Lagos played host to a four-member House of Representatives TETFund Technical Committee on Oversight on Monday, May 5, 2025, as part of an ongoing national evaluation of TETFund-sponsored infrastructure across Nigerian universities.

The delegation’s visit focused on reviewing TETFund-funded projects executed at UNILAG between 2021 and 2024, reinforcing the Federal Government’s commitment to academic infrastructure and institutional accountability.

Receiving the committee at the Vice-Chancellor’s Conference Room (10th Floor, Senate House) was a delegation of top University officials, including:

• Professor Bola Oboh – Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics & Research)
• Professor Foluso Afolabi-Lesi – Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services)
• Professor Muyiwa Falaiye – Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services)
• Mrs. Victoria Wickliffe – University Registrar
  They were joined by Architect Olaide Oladokun and Engineer Olaniyi Ayeye from the Works and Physical Planning Department.

Projects Inspected

The committee conducted on-site assessments of several key facilities:

• The newly constructed Arts Theatre adjacent to Senate House
• Renovated Moremi, King Jaja, Saburi Biobaku, and Kofoworola Ademola hostels
• The new administrative block at Scholars’ Suites
• A strategic water infrastructure project on Ransome Kuti Road

Following their tour, the lawmakers expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of the projects, noting their alignment with TETFund’s mission to uplift learning environments. They also provided recommendations to improve resource optimization, ensuring continued value for investment.
