The University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association, UNILAGFEAA, warmly congratulates Engr. Nimot Muili, FNSE, FNIEE, FNICE, PMP, Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Ikeja Branch, on her inauguration as a member of the Lagos State Physical Planning and Building Control Appeals Committee.

Engr. Muili was inaugurated on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, by the Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at a formal ceremony held at Lagos House, Marina. The newly constituted 14-member Committee is expected to play an important role in strengthening fairness, professionalism, regulatory accountability, and public confidence in the physical planning and building control processes of Lagos State.

Her appointment is a well-deserved recognition of her professional competence, leadership record, and commitment to engineering excellence. It also reflects the increasing importance of engineers in public-sector governance, urban development, infrastructure regulation, and the protection of lives and property through sound building-control systems.

As Chairman of NSE Ikeja Branch, Engr. Muili has continued to champion innovation, resilient infrastructure, capacity building, and stronger professional engagement within the engineering community. Her emergence as the 16th Chairman of the Branch was itself a significant milestone, making her the third woman to hold that office in the Branch’s history.

UNILAGFEAA is particularly pleased to identify with Engr. Muili, who currently serves as the Association’s Financial Secretary in the 2025–2027 National Executive Committee. Her professional leadership and active engagement with the engineering community continue to reflect the values of excellence, service, and public impact that UNILAGFEAA proudly upholds. Her appointment further reinforces one of the Association’s key aspirations: to showcase how members of the engineering family continue to influence policy, society, professional practice, and public leadership.

We commend Governor Sanwo-Olu for recognising the value of experienced professionals in a sector that is critical to orderly urban development, building safety, and sustainable infrastructure delivery in Lagos State.

On behalf of the Chairman, Executive Committee, Board of Trustees, and the entire UNILAGFEAA family, we heartily congratulate Engr. Nimot Muili, FNSE, FNIEE, FNICE, PMP, and wish her and the Committee a successful, impactful, and distinguished tenure.
