October 8, 2025 By Sola Aina In Celebrating Excellence The University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UNILAGFEAA) joins the entire UNILAG community and the global Akokite family to celebrate one of our finest — Engr. (Dr.) Ifeoluwa Olushola Oyedele, FNSE, FAEng, FRMN, KJW, D.Sc (Honoris Causa) — as he marks his 67th birthday on October 8, 2025. A proud graduate of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (Class of 1982), Engr. Oyedele has risen through the ranks of professional excellence to become one of Nigeria’s most respected engineers, administrators, and nation builders. His career spans public service, private enterprise, and national leadership, guided by the principles of integrity, discipline, and service to humanity. He founded Matcom Limited, an indigenous engineering company that grew to national prominence before his appointment as Executive Director (Engineering & Technical Services) at the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC), where he oversaw major infrastructure projects across Nigeria’s power value chain. Today, he serves as President Worldwide of the University of Lagos Alumni Association, leading a renewed vision for alumni unity, empowerment, and institutional impact. His leadership continues to strengthen the bridge between academia, industry, and governance. A Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and Risk Management Society of Nigeria, Engr. Oyedele’s dedication to professional excellence is matched only by his compassion. Through the Ifeoluwa Oyedele Foundation, he supports education, youth development, and empowerment for vulnerable groups. In recognition of his remarkable achievements, he was named African Man of the Year 2022 by The Voice Africa Magazine. His faith, humility, and devotion as a Knight of John Wesley define a life devoted to both purpose and service. On this milestone birthday, UNILAGFEAA salutes a man who personifies the ideals of our great Faculty — innovation, integrity, and impact. Happy 67th Birthday, High Chief Engr. (Dr.) Ifeoluwa Olushola Oyedele! May your years ahead continue to inspire excellence and service to humanity. Share this content: ← → x ×
