June 25, 2025 By Sola Aina In Celebrating Excellence The University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UNILAGFEAA) proudly celebrates one of our most distinguished alumni, His Excellency Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State, on the occasion of his 60th birthday. A 1988 graduate of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos, Governor Sanwo-Olu has exemplified the values of excellence, leadership, and service that define our alumni body. His career journey—from banking to public service—has been marked by visionary leadership, unwavering integrity, and people-focused governance. Since assuming office in 2019, Governor Sanwo-Olu has transformed Lagos with innovative policies and infrastructural strides across transportation, health, education, and technology. Under his leadership, projects such as the Blue Line Rail, Imota Rice Mill, Lagos Film City, and the Lagos Smart City initiative have come to life—showcasing his bold vision for a modern and inclusive Lagos. As an alumnus, Governor Sanwo-Olu has remained deeply connected to his roots. In 2020, he graciously served as Guest Speaker at the UNILAGFEAA Public Lecture, where he delivered a powerful keynote titled: “Professionals in Politics: A Panacea for Sustainable National Development.” His message was a clarion call to engineers and other professionals to rise into leadership and shape Nigeria’s future. His administration has also supported education and youth empowerment, reinforcing the relevance of alumni in national development. His contributions continue to inspire younger generations of UNILAG engineers to pursue excellence with purpose. 💬 From the UNILAGFEAA National Chairman, Engr. Ayotunde Ogunnoiki, FNSE: “We celebrate a brother, a visionary, and a trailblazer. Your achievements are a beacon for us all. May your 60th year usher in greater wisdom, peace, and continued success.” 🎈 Happy 60th Birthday, Your Excellency! May your path continue to shine bright as you serve our great state and nation with distinction. 🟦 University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UNILAGFEAA) Share this content: ← → x ×
