UNILAGFEAA Reports on Engr. Dideolu Falobi’s Thought-Provoking Lecture at the 7th Sina Egberongbe Memorial Lecture

The University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UNILAGFEAA) is pleased to report the successful delivery of the 7th Sina Egberongbe Memorial Lecture by our immediate past Chairman, Engr. Dideolu Falobi, FNSE, FCIoD.

Previously announced by UNILAGFEAA, the prestigious lecture took place on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Sina Egberongbe Block, Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) Abeokuta Secretariat, Abiola Way, opposite OOPL Entrance, Abeokuta. The event, hosted by the NSE Abeokuta Branch, began at 11:00 AM and drew distinguished guests and professionals from across the engineering and governance spectrum.

Delivering a powerful address on the theme “Re-Engineering Governance for National Productivity in Nigeria,” Engr. Falobi offered a deep dive into the intersection of governance systems and economic performance. Drawing from both engineering principles and governance theory, he explored:

  • The four pillars of good governance: People, Purpose, Process, and Performance
  • Nigeria’s persistent productivity challenges and governance shortfalls
  • The need for institutional, policy, and leadership reforms
  • Strategies for embedding transparency, accountability, and efficiency in both public and private governance
  • The role of technology, human capital investment, and citizen engagement in transforming national productivity

The lecture honored the legacy of Engr. Sina Egberongbe, an exemplary leader and former NSE Abeokuta Branch Chairman, whose contributions continue to inspire the engineering community.

Engr. Falobi’s delivery received widespread acclaim for its clarity, depth, and relevance, reinforcing his role as a thought leader committed to national development and institutional excellence.

UNILAGFEAA congratulates Engr. Falobi on this outstanding achievement and remains proud of his ongoing contributions to the engineering profession and national discourse.
