Otunba Adedamola Olanrewaju Kuti stands tall as one of Nigeria’s finest engineers, public servants, philanthropists, and distinguished alumni of the University of Lagos. His journey—spanning over three decades of unwavering service to the Federal Republic of Nigeria—epitomizes excellence, integrity, leadership, and an uncommon dedication to uplifting communities. Today, the UNILAG Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UNILAGFEAA) proudly joins his family, colleagues, friends, and countless beneficiaries of his generosity to celebrate a man whose life has been defined by service, nation-building, and the fear of God. A Distinguished Public Service Career Engr. Kuti is widely celebrated for his 35 years of meritorious service in the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, rising through the ranks to become: Federal Controller of Works, Lagos State One of the most highly demanding and sensitive engineering leadership positions in the country. During his stewardship, Lagos witnessed significant federal road interventions, project supervision improvements, and strengthened coordination between federal and state agencies. Director of Federal Highways (South-West) In this role, he oversaw key arterial projects across the region, demonstrating exceptional competence, diplomacy, and execution capacity—qualities that earned him both national recognition and deep respect within the engineering profession. Throughout his career, Engr. Kuti became known for his hands-on approach to project oversight, his calm yet firm leadership style, and his passion for developing younger engineers—qualities widely acknowledged in public tributes celebrating his retirement. A Philanthropist with a Heart for People and God Beyond engineering, Engr. Kuti’s life is rooted in a profound sense of responsibility to humanity. His rise in the Federal Civil Service mirrors many of the aspirations discussed at the 2025 UNILAGFEAA Retreat—demonstrating how alumni leadership can strengthen national infrastructure and drive national development across generations.
