May 24, 2022 By feaaadmin In Uncategorized The chairman of UNILAG Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UNILAGFEAA) Engr. Dideolu Falobi led other members of the executive on a courtesy call to the University of Lagos Alumni President (Worldwide), Dr. John Momoh, OON, NPOM at his Channels Media Office. Engr. Falobi thanked the President for his laudable work, doors he has opened for the association and heights he is taking it to. He took the meeting through the history of the formation of the UNILAGFEAA, being the brainchild of the Set of 1972, with its pioneer chairman being Engr. Titi Omo-Ettu and with the kind support of then Dean of Faculty, Prof. Funso Falade. He stated that this is the second Executive of the UNLAGFEAA. Speaking further, he highlighted some of the most pressing needs of the Faculty, which include faculty offices for lecturers and lecture theatres for students. A committee was set up to drive a fundraising and UNILAGFEAA has been able to mobilise among its members, sponsorship of the projects namely: Extension of the Mechanical Engineering block which is almost completed De-flooding of the Faculty (to tackle the massive flooding problem that has beset the Faculty complex) There is also an Industry Advisory Board which is saddled with looking into how the Faculty could be of benefit to the industry at large. Towards raising funds and increasing alumni participation in further meeting the needs of the Faculty, a luncheon is scheduled to hold on May 5, 2022 with Dr. John Momoh as Chief Host. Engr. Falobi also confirmed that Gov. Sanwoolu and Gov. Makinde agreed to be co-chairs at the event. At the event, there will also be a technical presentation by Engr. Bimbo Akinajo, MD of Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA). In his response, Dr. John Momoh thanked the Faculty Alumni for the visit and for the impressive work they were doing. He lauded their conscientiousness and was certain that their strategy would only bring good outcomes. He confirmed attendance on May 5th and promised that Channels Media will be on hand to cover the event. He also granted them an invitation to an interview on Sunrise Daily on the morning of Saturday, April 30. Members of the delegation were: Engr Dideolu Falobi (Chairman) Engr. Lawal Taiwo (Publicity secretary) Dr. Lawrence Osoba (Secretary) The Executive Secretary of UNILAG Alumni Association, Mrs. Yetunde Abatan and Alumni Relations Manager, Mr. Seun Badejo were also present at the meeting.
