April 11, 2023 By feaaadmin In Uncategorized The Chairman of the UNILAG Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association, Engr. Dideolu Falobi, FNSE, has issued a call to action to the graduates of the faculty who are not yet members of the alumni association, urging them to voluntarily become members so that they can participate, financially as well, in the organisation’s efforts to grow and improve the faculty. This appeal was made during the presentation of the Chairman’s executive report for the AGM of the UNILAG faculty of Engineering Alumni Association, which took place on the 30th of March 2023 in the Prof. Rahman Adisa Bello lecture theatre on the campus of the faculty. The executive committee and about 70 alumni attended the AGM/Election. The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering: Prof. Obanisola Sodiq, who delivered a goodwill message, Department Heads, and the National President (Worldwide), University of Lagos Alumni Association: Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele, FNSE, were also in attendance. The accomplishments of the association since its founding on the 14th of March 2017 under the leadership of Engr. Titi Omo-Ettu to the present leadership of Engr. Falobi, FNSE, were discussed in detail. The persons and sets whose support and efforts enabled the minor gains accomplished so far, especially in the previous three years, were thanked. Governor Babajide Sanwoolu, Governor Seyi Makinde, Her Excellency Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Engr. Kolawole Ogunsanya, Engr. Kunle Ogunbayo, Engr. Ige, Professor Ikpomwosa, Engr. Aramide Adeyoye, Engr. Bimbo Akinajo, Engr. Yetunde Holloway, Engr. Ayo Ogunnoiki, and Engr (Dr.) Lawrence Osoba. The 1985 and 1987 sets were also acknowledged and thanked. Some achievements from the previous administration include the following: Finishing the Dean’s office building’s vertical addition, incorporating the 1985 alumni furniture, the Office houses, the Alumni Office Secretariat and others. Phase 1 of the vertical addition of Mechanical and Civil Engineering classrooms and the Civil Engineering office building completed. Completed vertical addition of Mechanical Engineering office building donated by an alumnus: Engr. Wole Ogunsanya, FNSE. After completion, these three projects, worth about NGN300 million, will create 12 new lecturer offices and 420 new student seats. After the election concluded, UNILAGFEAA continues to be led by Engr. Falobi, FNSE, the CEO of Kresta Laurel Limited, owing to his assiduous commitment in the drive for the progress of the alumni association over the years. The election committee and IPC inaugurated the newly elected association executives (pictured below). While some former administration officials were reelected, Engr. Leke Akindele, a newly elected executive, became vice chairman 2. The vice chairman 1 position is still vacant (and reserved for female members). Engr. Lawal Taiwo returned as Publicity Secretary, Engr. (Dr.) Lawrence Osoba became Treasurer, Engr. Ayo Ogunnoiki FNSE became General Secretary, and Engr. Segun Arawole became Assistant Secretary. Engr. Nimotalai Muili, the association’s Financial Secretary, and Engr. Omosewa Arowolo, the Social Secretary, are both new. Ex-Officio Officer 1 and 2 are vacant. L-R: Engr. Secretary; Vacant: Vice Chairman 1 (Reserved for Female Member); Ex-Officio Officer 1 & 2 UNILAGFEAA’s AGM was a success, bringing alumni and guests together to debate the association’s and engineering profession’s successes and difficulties. The AGM showed the strong community and camaraderie of Engineering alumni. The association’s fundraising drive was successful.
