June 6, 2025 By Sola Aina In Celebrating Excellence Honouring a Life of Excellence, Integrity, and Service The University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association (UNILAGFEAA) proudly joins family, friends, and colleagues to celebrate one of its most distinguished members and a Trustee of our Association, Engr. (Chief) Dr. Oye Eribake, FNSE, DPhil, on the joyous occasion of his 80th birthday. Born on June 4, 1945, in Ikala, Ijebu Imusin, Otunba (Dr.) Eribake has led a life marked by brilliance, service, and unshakable integrity. From his early academic exploits—graduating top of his class at the University of Lagos with First Class Honours in Mechanical Engineering—to earning his doctorate in Structural Engineering at the University of Sussex, UK, his journey reflects a relentless pursuit of excellence. A consummate professional, he served in pivotal roles across leading institutions including Shell, NNPC, Delta Steel, and the global engineering giants ABB and Alstom. Rising to the position of Country President for Alstom Nigeria, his leadership left a lasting mark on Nigeria’s power and engineering sectors. Even in retirement, he continues to offer his expertise as a private consultant while dedicating himself to impactful community service in his hometown and beyond. Engr. Eribake’s election as a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Engineering, and his longstanding memberships in the Nigerian Society of Engineers and the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers, affirm his standing as a towering figure in the profession. Within UNILAGFEAA, he is not only respected for his accomplishments but deeply admired for his humility, wisdom, and enduring commitment to alumni unity and progress. As he marks his 80th year, we honour a man whose legacy inspires generations of engineers. We pray for continued good health, strength, and grace as he enters this new chapter. 🎂 Happy 80th Birthday, Otunba (Dr) Oye Eribake! Your life continues to light the path for many.
