January 19, 2026 By Sola Aina In Events & Programmes The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Lagos Branch, in collaboration with the University of Lagos Faculty of Engineering, has successfully hosted the Graduateship Induction and Hooding Programme for newly qualified engineering graduates. The ceremony, held on Monday, 19 January 2026, at the NSE Lagos Branch Secretariat, University of Lagos, Akoka, brought together academia, industry leaders, and professional engineers to formally induct graduating students into the engineering profession. The programme, themed “Building a Thriving Nation Through Engineering,” underscored the critical role of engineers in national development and sustainable growth. The event featured a keynote address by Engr. Ajibola Akindele, President and Managing Director of Schneider Electric, West Africa. The ceremony was chaired by Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, FNSE, President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers. The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. Samson O. Adeosun, served as Host, while the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Folasade Ogunsola, FAS, OON, was the Chief Host. The programme was co-hosted by Engr. Olukorede Kesha, FNSE, Chairman of NSE Lagos Branch. The induction and hooding ceremony marks an important professional milestone for the graduates, formally welcoming them into the engineering community and positioning them for future professional development under the NSE framework.
