Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele appeal to Engineers to establish a balance between acquired hard skills from physics and mathematics learnt while in school with business, management, sales and marketing as well as political skills that have proven to be eminent to life success. Engr. Noimot disclosed this at the UNILAG Faculty of Engineering Alumni Association 2022 luncheon of a N500m development fund, titled, ‘A better UNILAG Faculty of Engineering for all generations,’ Engr. Noimot who is alumnus of the faculty and a former treasurer with the past executive of the association underlined the significance of Alumni networking during her speech at the occasion. “Your network is your net worth but the network that is most important is Alumni association network as the creation of various branding during learning days have continue to generate loyalties to the brands created which in-turn foster the relationship between us as we grow in life” she remarked The deputy Governor pleaded with the Alumni whose experiences have confirmed this need for other skills aside from Engineering to assist upcoming Engineers understand and learn this on time to make Engineering more relevant, make indigenous Engineers more resourceful, successful and more involved. “We have to be at the table when policy decisions are taken and participate in the process to a stage where people can listen to us and in whichever way, we can make Engineering resourceful,” she said. “There is a huge infrastructural deficit justifying the significant demand for Engineers to develop the demanded infrastructure, but how many UNILAG Engineers are going to be part of that process when the need arise? This is a challenge UNILAG Faculty of Engineering Alumni association must meet to ensure continuity in producing the best and industry ready Engineers” she charged. Share this content: ← → x ×
